General Bipin Rawat, PVSM, UYSM, AVSM, YSM, SM, VSM, ADC is a Four-Star General of the Indian Army and the current Chief of Defence Staff of India. In India too, the provision to appoint the Chief of Defense Staff has been introduced. Bipin Rawat, the first Chief of Defense Staff of India, was appointed, who has assumed his office from 1 January 2020.
After completing his studies from the Indian Military Academy, Dehradun, he was commissioned in the Gorkha Rifles Battalion in 1978. His father was also in this battalion.
