Amar Singh is an Indian politician and businessman. He was a member of the Rajya Sabha and general secretary of the Samajwadi Party.
In the politics of Uttar Pradesh, Amar Singh had a different identity from his style of poetry. From Businessman to the politician, Amar Singh was also the general secretary of the Samajwadi Party.
On 6 January 2010, he resigned from all posts of the Samajwadi Party and was subsequently expelled from the party on 2 February 2010 by the party chief, Mulayam Singh Yadav. He spent a brief period in judicial custody in 2011.
Amar Singh eventually retired from politics. But in 2016, he returned to the Samajwadi Party and once again reached Parliament as a Rajya Sabha member.
