Nirbhaya real name was Jyoti Singh, and she was the victim of the 16 December 2012 Delhi rape case. She was gang-raped and tortured in a private bus in which she was returning home with her Boyfriend, Awindra Pratap after watching the movie in Saket, South Delhi.
As per Indian law does not allow the media to publish a rape victim name. Nirbhaya was the name given to her by the press, which means fearless. But Nirbhaya mother revealed her real name (Joyti) to the public on Nirbhaya 3rd death anniversary in 2015.
Nirbhaya finally gets justice after 7 years and 3 months. The four convicts of Nirbhaya were hanged in Tihar Jail at 5:30 am on Friday 20 March 2020.
